Samson Aviation offer HM Customs, HM Immigration and security pre-clearance, which allow passengers and crew ease of access to and from their aircraft.

The UKBF reserve the right to request to see any passenger at any time regardless of whether they hold the correct documentation for entry into the UK and within the aviation community it is generally accepted that we have no control to prevent this happening.

NEW GAR RULES - International arrivals (including EGNS, EGJB, EGJJ)

In order for UK Border Force to assess flights for pre-clearance into the UK, a GAR and associated Flight Plan must be submitted electronically by the Operator onto the GAIT System no earlier than 48 hours and no later than 2 hours prior to the expected time of departure (GAIT at https://www.submit-general-aviation-report.service.gov.uk/login).

A GAR is still required for crew only, positioning, flights arriving in the UK. UK Border Force also need to know the length of any passenger’s visit to the UK, the purpose of the visit and whether any firearms are being brought into the UK on the flight. GARs emailed directly to UK Border Force or Samson will not be compliant and will NOT BE ACCEPTED.

For guidance, see https://www.submit-general-aviation-report.service.gov.uk/welcome/index. Border Force will be operating a civil penalty regime that will underpin the 2024 Regulations. Failing to comply with the 2024 Regulations may result in a civil penalty of up to £10,000 per breach.

All Operators must inform us if:

• The aircraft is owned, chartered or operated by a person connected with Russia or Belarus.

• The aircraft is registered in Russia or Belarus or flying in accordance with a flight plan that includes an aerodrome in Russia.

• As per the UK DFT guidelines, Newcastle Airport will not allow any direct flights from Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria or Yemen.

The direction DOES NOT apply if the flight is a confirmed air ambulance operation or we have written permission for such a flight to land from the Department for Transport.
